نوكيا (بالفنلندية: Nokia) هي شركة عالمية فنلندية رائدة في قطاع الاتصالات المتحركة، بدأت كشركة متخصصة في الأخشاب والأحذية المطاطية، وأتى اسم نوكيا من النهر الذي يمر ببلدة تامبر وهو نوكيانفيرتا وهي كلمة فنلندية قديمة تعني حيوان السمور وكان هذا الحيوان الشعار الأو لنوكيا قبل تغيره إلى الشعار الحالي عام1968 أنتجت أول هاتف نقال عام 1972 وقد كان لأغراض عسكرية، وتقود نمو وتطوير هذا القطاع الصناعي المتحرك الواسع الضيق. نوكيا تمكّن الأشخاص من التواصل بعضهم مع بعض، وتصلهم بالمعلومات التي تهمهم، مع منتجات مبتكرة وسهلة الاستعمال مثل الهواتف النقالة ،الآلات والحلول للتصوير، الألعاب، الإعلام والأعمال. نوكيا تزود مشغلي الشبكات والشركات بالتجهيزات، الحلول والخدمات.

و نوكيا هي شركة مساهمة ومدرجة على لائحة أكبر أربعة أسواق بورصة. وتصنف على أنها خامس (سادس سابقا) أشهر ماركة في العالم، كما أن منتجاتها مطروحة في أكثر من 211 بلدا، إلا أن عددا غير كبير يعرف أنها شركة فنلندية. ووفقا لما قاله نائب رئيس نوكيا انتي فاسارا فان «ماركة نوكيا مشهورة جدا ولكن ليس كل العالم يعرف أنها فنلندية».

أنشئت الشركة في عام 1865 في هلسنكي بفنلندا, وتملك الشركة عدد كبير من المصانع حالياً في العديد من المدن مثل أثينا وبكين وطوكيو ولها فروع في جميع أنحاء العالم. وتلعب شركة نوكيا دوراً مهماً وفعالاً في اقتصاد دولة فنلندا.حيث ان 6_7 بالمائه من اقتصاد فنلندا هو من ضرائب نوكيا فقط.

لقد زادت مبيعات نوكيا عام 2006 بنحو 20 في المائة لتصل إلى 41.1 مليار يورو (نحو 53 مليار دولار). وفي الحقيقة فان مبيعات نوكيا تزيد عن ميزانية الحكومة المركزية الفنلندية والتي تقدر بـ(39.6 مليار دولار). ولا يقتصر الأمر عند هذا الحد، حيث أن نوكيا أصبحت من أكبر شركات التوظيف في فنلندا وربما العالم، فمنذ تحول نوكيا إلى الهواتف الجوالة عام 1992 تمكنت من خلق 40 ألف وظيفة. ولكن رغم هذه الصورة المذهلة ينبغي الإشارة إلى انه كان هناك بعض القلق بالنسبة لأداء نوكيا المستقبلي، فمتوسط سعر الجهاز الواحد لنوكيا تراجع في الربع الرابع إلى 116 دولارا من 121 دولارا في الربع السابق، عزاه المراقبون إلى استمرار الشركة تعزيز موقعها في الأسواق الناشئة مثل الهند والصين والتي يطغى على مبيعاتها الأجهزة رخيصة الثمن. بالإضافة إلى ذلك فان نوكيا لم تستطع زيادة العالمية بشكل كبير حيث بلغت 36 في المائة تقريبا في الربع الرابع من العام الماضي، وهي نسبة مساوية للربع الذي سبقه، على الرغم من أن حصة نوكيا اِرتفعت بنحو 2 في المائة مقارنة بعام 2005 لتصل إلى نحو 36 في المائة. ولكن مع ذلك فان نوكيا تؤكد عزمها على رفع حصتها في عام 2007، وفي هذا السياق قال المدير التنفيذي السابق لنوكيا اولي ـ بيكا كلاسفوي أن إحدى الطرق التي يمكن للشركة أن تفعل ذلك هي «من خلال التركيز على الأسواق المتوسطة، ومع نية طرح الشركة لنحو 30 إلى 40 جهازا جديدا خلال هذا العام(2008)، فان نوكيا يمكنها تعزيز ريادتها». ومن القضايا الأخرى التي تدعو للقلق على صعيد أداء نوكيا، تراجع حصتها في الولايات المتحدة، فقد تراجعت مبيعاتها هناك بنحو 40 في المائة خلال الربع الرابع من عام 2006. ومن أجل التعامل مع هذه المشكلة تخطط نوكيا لطرح المزيد من الموديلات التي تعمل بنظام (CDMA)، وهو النظام الذي يشكل نصف حجم السوق الأميركي. وفي هذا المجال يعترف كلاسفوي بحجم المشكلة بقوله «نحن لسنا سعداء بموقعنا في اميركا، وقد إتخذنا بدورنا خطوات جادة وواضحة من أجل تحسين مبيعاتنا عبر التركيز على التصميم في مركز التصميم التابع لنا في مدينة سان دييغو الأميركية». وعلى الرغم من هذه الإشكاليات، إلا أن نتائج الربع الرابع من عام 2006 كانت مذهلة، ويجب ألا تنسينا أبدا ان نوكيا لا تزال تتربع على عرش الهواتف الجوالة بدون منازع، كما أن الشركة تتمتع بقدرات لا يضاهيها أحد من خلال قدرتها على طرح تصميمات جديدة وباسعار تناسب الجميع، طبعا مع القدرة في الوقت ذاته على زيادة المبيعات العالمية وزيادة الأرباح. وينبغي الإشارة هنا إلى ان نوكيا تعتبر أكبر مصنع للكاميرات الرقمية في العالم، كما أنها أكبر مصنع لأجهزة تشغيل الموسيقى MP3

Nokia is also engaged in providing free digital map information and navigation services through its wholly owned subsidiary Navteq.

Nokia has sites for research and development, manufacture and sales in several countries; as of December 2010, Nokia had R&D presence in 16 countries and employed 35,870 people in research and development, representing approximately 27% of the group's total workforce.

The Nokia Research Center, founded in 1986, is Nokia's industrial research unit consisting of about 500 researchers, engineers and scientists; it has sites in seven countries: Finland, China, India, Kenya, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States. Besides its research centers, in 2001 Nokia founded (and owns) INdT – Nokia Institute of Technology, a R&D institute located in Brazil. Nokia operates a total of 9 manufacturing facilities located at Salo, Finland; Manaus, Brazil; Cluj, Romania; Beijing and Dongguan, China; Komárom, Hungary; Chennai, India; Reynosa, Mexico; and Masan, South Korea. Nokia's factory in Cluj was seized by the Romanian government in November 2011 to prevent a sale of the assets, after Nokia had accumulated a tax liability of US$ 10 million. Nokia's industrial design department is headquartered in Soho in London, UK with significant satellite offices in Helsinki, Finland and Calabasas, California in the US.

Nokia is a public limited-liability company listed on the Helsinki, Frankfurt, and New York stock exchanges. Nokia plays a very large role in the economy of Finland; it is by far the largest Finnish company, accounting for about a third of the market capitalization of the Helsinki Stock Exchange (OMX Helsinki) as of 2007, a unique situation for an industrialized country. It is an important employer in Finland and several small companies have grown into large ones as its partners and subcontractors. In 2009, Nokia contributed 1.6% to Finland's GDP, and accounted for about 16% of Finland's exports in 2006.

It is the 14th ranked brand corporation in Europe (as of 2011), the 8th most admirable Network and Other Communications Equipment company worldwide in Fortune's World's Most Admired Companies list of 2011 , and the world's 143th largest company as measured by revenue in Fortune Global 500 list of 2011. In July 2010, Nokia reported a drop in profits by 40%, which turned into an operating loss of EUR 487 million in Q2 2011. In the global smartphone rivalry, Nokia held the 3rd place in 2Q2011, trailing behind Samsung and Apple.

On 11 February 2011, Nokia announced a partnership with Microsoft where all future Nokia smartphones will be powered by the Windows Phone 7 (WP7) operating system. On 26 October 2011, Nokia unveiled its first WP7.5 powered handsets Lumia 710 and 800.
